May 21st Daniel Thomas reported for the Financial Times that

“Opportunity fund raises £300m” 

Property entrepreneurs Martin Myers & Manish Chande through UK Investment group raised £300m in equity, giving an expected acquisition capacity of more than £850m
More than 30 international investors have participated including property funds & Pension funds to invest across the residential and commercial real estate markets.  
“Coming on the back of recent equity raisings in the listed sector, Mr Chande said that the raising showed that there was a growing appetite among overseas investors for exposure to the UK market recovery.”

Financial Times 30th March 2009... Landlords are buying more properties than they are selling for the first time in 2 years. The association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) sated that “More than double the number of estate agents reported that landlords were buying properties in the first quarter of 2009” and the that ... “The data show that there are bargains to be had in the property market at the moment for those with a keen eye.”
